This must have been strange for you. I hope it’s been worth your while.
It was strange for me, too.
Writing to the younger me—who I know to be anxious about the future—bent my mind in ways I did not expect.
Embarking on this little journey made me realise how reflecting on the past is just as insightful as painting a picture of the future.
CONTINUEReality is always more complicated than fiction, so achieving net zero by 2050 takes the bitter with the sweet.
Many things exceeded our expectations, while others fell short. Silver bullets simply don’t exist in reality.
But we found something better.
Millions of people who wanted something: for themselves, for the world, for the generations they would become ancestors to.
And with that, I think I’ll call it a night.
It’s past two in the morning and I’m exhausted. I’ll give Meryl a carrot and go to bed. It’s a wild New Year’s eve, I know.
